I wish the diamonds were replaced with what would be spectacular to a little boy or girl, a dinosaur skeleton, or a treasure chest. Ask any child and they'll give you a hundred spectacular and mundane things they think are treasures.

Everything a picture book should be. Not an illustrated story to which the pictures are secondary, not pictures with a sub-par text overlaid, but a good story, rich in irony, well-told.

This book definitely had me wondering what they would find! I really liked the illustrations. And the dog. Monarch Winner for 2018.
Omg every time they got close they MISSED IT. Was funny but also made me want to bang my head off a wall?
Loved the illustrations, the story ends weird but I enjoyed the first segment!
This book appears to be simple on the surface, but it is so much deeper than that (see what I did there?). I love scrutinizing the front pages and the back pages, especially. Food for thought.
