I silly and odd book about two boys who are digging for treasure. They keep changing directions in their digging and keep missing the diamonds. The ending was strange with them falling down and landing back where they started.

I don't know how they ended up falling from the sky..? Buuuut, the dog alone got it at least three stars. I love it when books show animals true nature, in this case, the dogs a good tracker and has an idea when something's going on. It makes it very comical. Would recommend.

Felix: "Why are you giving it four stars instead of five?"
Me: "It has to be pretty spectacular to get five stars."
Felix: "It is spectacular in a special way! The only thing that frustrated me was... *spoiler ahead*

"...they didn't get any gems!"

Another super great picture book from Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen! This is a fun interactive read in the vein of [b:Rosie's Walk|420403|Rosie's Walk|Pat Hutchins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1358594679s/420403.jpg|2889655]. I elected not to think about the hole collapsing in on them, which was certainly on my mind after watching Going Deep with David Rees.

Klassen can do very little wrong in my book. This is basically every cartoon joke about digging in book form. (All the cool stuff you accidently dig around or past without noticing.)

Jacob was amused at how the boys digging missed things. I don't think he understood that they "
went around the world" part.

A cute children’s picture book about two boys who decide to dig a hole and miss several treasures along the way

Barnett & Klassen hit another home run with this story about the glories of digging in the dirt (and chocolate milk!). Though the two repeatedly miss fantastic buried treasure, it's clear that the real treasure is the joy of exploration.
