It is an amazing workplace rom-com that was so freshening in a way. It was funny, sweet and just plain wonderful. Katie Bailey might just be one of my favourite authors now.

I read this over a couple of weeks ago and wrote absolutely no notes.

Thanks for that October Celeste.

So all I’ve got are three words: cute, quick and clean.

So basically, I enjoyed it, I don’t remember much about it and I can’t see myself ever reading this again, but I would maybe read from the author again.

And if that’s not an endorsement, well too bad, because I did not make good life decisions this past month when it came to reading, and now we all have to live with consequences of that.

i love a good trope-filled rom-com, but this one was a bit too cheesy for my liking...

the premise was what hooked me: hot grumpy businessman and eccentric quirky woman get forced to share a hotel room (and bed) because of airport trouble, but it turns out that the businessman is her new boss...

and although this was a promising synopsis, it fell a little short for me...i felt as though the story was rushed, specifically the romance (they said i love you like 3 weeks after meeting)...also the spice was lacking for me (aka only one extended make-out session)...and the conflict wasn't really all that weighty or concerning (and seemed to be resolved incredibly quickly and easily)

i'm not too keen on books that feel rushed, or seem a bit juvenile for my liking...plus Annie (the main character) was a bit too weird and quirky for my liking, especially in regard to how awful she was at doing anything (the clumsiest person ever) and yet the love interest found it sexy and endearing every single time (a bit unbelievable for my liking)

i read it, but don't think i'll be recommending or going back to it

i think the reason i loved this book sm is because it’s so…low pressure. it’s simple, lighthearted, funny and uncomplicated. zero angst, just the way i’m liking it these days.

another huge point in favor is how utterly lovable the characters are. liam isn’t an asshole (which is super common in grumpy/sunshine tropes) and i loved how their (super fast paced) relationship unfolded.

more and more, i’m looking for the removal of unnecessary drama and  i’m so glad this follow that part. the third act conflict (my fav new term) was barely anything and i’m just rly glad there’s no stupid miscommunication trope in here.
