Not nearly the stunner the first book was. This one felt like it was going too far too fast - prime character deaths, secret identity revelations. Like the all time final conclusion of a series (and sure, as a standalone, it could be that). It felt like it lost some nuances in that drive. Still good writing, excellent art.

An excellent sequel that lives up to the story set up in "White Knight." It was a delight with ever raising stakes, excellent art and action, a wonderfully told story, and an overall good time. I'm glad I finally sat down and read both parts of this Murphyverse story.

Sean Murphy continues to dazzle with a unique take on the Batman mythos. The story is original and the artwork is outstanding. I cannot get enough of this series.

Series 2 in Batman: The White Knight. I liked it just as much a the first. Very action packed, I give it 👊👊👊 for action.
fast-paced

Murphy's "White Knight" is a perfect take on Batman, as it reevaluates everything from his in-world mythos to his legacy in pop culture, reshaping the complicated hero into someone believable and flawed while reupping what makes him interesting. Its inaugural arc could've easily stood alone as a dissertation rather than a universe, but now here we are romping through the aftermath with deeper cuts and a layered rhythm. I dug this thing a whole lot, though it doesn't carry the same swing as its predecessor. I imagine nothing could, as it built a new world inside an old one, while this adventure keeps pulling the whole of Gotham into its depths.
