I'm not surprised I liked this, it's Schwab after all, but that doesn't make it any less true. I did spend quite a bit of the first half being a little lost. But I think it worked, because Olivia doesn't know what's going on and you're in her head, so you have to learn as she does. It definitely added a creep factor to Gallant and made me a little on edge wondering what was going to happen next. I didn't always like Olivia, but I think I always understood her. She's had it rough and is desperate for a home so to feel like she's going to find one and then have it ripped away? Yeah, I'd refuse to leave too. The writing is gorgeous as always, and I never really knew where it was going next.

This was nice but felt more like a novella than a full novel. It is a wquick read and a lot of it is drawings or diary entries. It could have been more detailed and longer, and the end all happened too fast, but still nice. Definitely for a younger audience.
