My absolute favourite thing about reading fiction is the mere idea that for a price much less than a plane ticket, I can travel anywhere in the world.

For two days I lived in Peru and enjoyed the vivacious imagery and lessons taught by James Redfield.

The Insights are hidden within the book, there are no subheadings to let you know when they appear (which I liked). I also liked that each Insight was attached to a person and a place because it helped me remember all of them without having to write them down.

Some of the Insights I didn’t really understand initially, but sometimes when I learn new things out of the realm of things I already know, it makes understanding the new thing(s) a little harder.

Good book. Not quite the 5 stars and I can’t put my finger as to why. But it’s a light and enjoyable read, especially for the summer.

UGH.

When I first read this book in ‘95 I was WOWED by it. I would’ve given it 5 stars. Twenty four years later, middle aged, not so much.

Reminded me of Martha Beck’s Diana, Herself. An interesting allegorical exploration of the meaning of life

I really liked the concepts in this book. Some very thought provoking things that I'll chew on for a long while. However, didn't feel like it was that well written and the woo-wooness of it could make it a little bit off putting in suggesting it to the right people, but conceptually is in the vein of some really important things for humanity and the individual to sit with.
