Ms. Hoover is a very talented author. She doesn't just write a story, her words pull you into that story and make you live it with the characters. Verity was my first book by her and I was totally enchanted by her writing style, her character development and that ability to pull me into the story and feel every emotion of the characters.

Ugly Love was my third book by this author. So I had very high expectations for this one, based on the past two I have read. Although I was not as impressed by this story, there is no denying Ms. Hoover's talent. Overall, I really enjoyed the story even though the characters made me want to pull my hair out sometimes, and at times there were repetitive use of specific words or phrases, which for me was a bit distracting and annoying.

This is a classic new-adult romance where Miles feels unworthy and afraid of love, trying to resist it at all costs. Tate wants that all emcompassing love we all do, and is so attracted to Miles, she will take whatever he's willing to give. Both characters were fascinating and likable, and I found the story to be touching and endearing. I definitely enjoyed it and am happy that I picked this one up.

4 stars

(3.5 stars) enjoyable read with some great smutty moments however I didn't fall in love with the romance. I also enjoyed the writing style between the different POVs of Miles and Tate

I HATTED this book.
I went in with a open mind because I like to figure out if the book is good. I was so wrong, some people may like the book but not me.
The main characters are any main characters with one being a nurse and the other a pilot. The book I just terrible there's no plot there's just smut and a tragic backstory.

WOWWW. 4.5 stars rounded down from 5. To be completely honest I was so obsessed with this book, I started the audiobook last night and finished all (almost) 10 hours of it today. Trying to collect my thoughts on this book is hard because I loved it so much, even though the trope of a man needing to be "fixed" of his past trauma is somewhat annoying. This is also partially a "brother's best friend" trope.

I'm not going to go to super in-depth for this, but I genuinely enjoyed Tate & Miles's story. Colleen Hoover really knows how to connect plot points in her books from beginning to end, and the twist from Miles's past honestly threw me off, it wasn't what I was expecting.

This book is very spicy, in a good way, though some of the internal dialogue at times was a little bit cringe. I think if I had read this instead of listening to the audiobook, I wouldn't have thought twice about the way some things were said.

I think their love story was wrapped up so sweetly, even though Miles was honestly a real fucking douche sometimes, and Tate really COMMITTED herself to this man.

All in all, I recommend for anyone who likes a spicy contemporary with a twist of sadness. (Happy ending though!) This did make me both laugh and cry (only a little bit).

Not my favorite for some reason

CAP HAS MY HEART! I like Miles together with Tate as couple not going to lie. But the drama was good and I enjoyed reading this as my first Colleen Hoover book
