Even geleden uitgelezen (dun boekje), maar ik weet niet goed meer wat ik er precies van vond. Enkel dat ik het goed vond xp (dus wrs zal ik deze review ooit nog aanpassen)

The version I read was actually Karpelson's translation, which seemed definitely up to the task - curious, though, that there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about Karpelson himself on the Internet other than the fact that he's translated a handful of Bulgakov's works.

A fun read, with lots of allegory to choose from, depending on the angle from which you read it.

Funny and pretty entertaining. In one way or another, it is not a man with a heart of a dog that should be taken care of: the opposite does.
My favorite thing about Bulgakov is his mythical invention such as Behemoth, a giant sarcastic and bipedal cat in Master and Margarita, and Sharik (or should we call Poligraph Poligraphovic) in this one. There's a big hint of symbolism at that creation worth to be pondered on.

This is the second piece of work that I have read by Mikhail Bulgakov. And for the second time I am left with a slight smirk on my face as my fingertips touch the last pages. He is beyond clever and his style is one I've grown to really adore. Always a good read.
