I devoured this book! If you buy it, just go ahead and buy the 2nd book right away. I had to wait too long (about 18 hours) for the 2nd one to be delivered!

I love Rachel Gillig’s writing. Beautiful characters, great development. I already have the movie partially casted in my mind! Loved the magic system. Read this book!

I didn't love this as much as I was hoping. The world building is good, I like the dark feel, and the creative use of magic. The plot was a bit meh and didn't feel as high stakes as it should. I also think I just don't like Elsbeth as an FMC. She is pretty useless and requires help from literally everyone around (or in) her. I wanted a tougher FMC
