This book was a fairly easy read and i actually got pretty into it. It was well paced and the character development was subtle and smooth. I enjoyed the confusion brought about at the end. The way the book was written left the reader just as confused as Gemma. I honestly don't know which side is the right one, and the ending was very suitable and really the only way I could imagine it ending. This was a very good read And told a very interesting story!

This book is... weird. I honestly don't get the hyype surrounding it. During the reading I wanted to DNF it so many times.. but I pushed through and finished it. But it was really one of the slowest books I've ever read. Yes,, I enjoy plot driven books but I also like books that are built on the character development - but I don't think the character development is amazing there. And there are so many weird and implausible things! Like seriously? Do people spent several years to make a place where they want to kindap someoone? Nobody on the airport notices a man with a drugged out girl? And what's the thing with the camel - it seemed really weird - and don't get me wrong, I love nature and camping and all this stuff (I may enjoy Ty's place) - but the whole camel thing was just so out of place...
I really liked this book! I thought the story was very original and interesting. There really wasn't anything I didn't like about it... but for some reason, I just didn't love it enough to give it 5 stars. But yet, there is nothing I can pinpoint exactly as to why I didn't entirely love it. I don't know....maybe I'll change my mind later!
Man... This was heartbreaking!!!!! I really hated the main girl, but I wish we could have figured out more about Ty. Sure, he was horrible, but I really didn't like the ending, he didn't deserve that, he didn't deserve that type of life. He was way messed up, but I still hate that ending! Full review to come.
Surprisingly, I didn't have strong feeling about this book. I actually felt rather indifferent to it, except on 2 fronts.
Front 1: it was not separated by chapters (hated that!)
Front 2: I did the math. Ty would've been about 24/25. Gemma was 16 (vEry much hate! gross! predatory! ef that!)
I did enjoy reading a book written in the second person though & would gladly crash a bookclub if the whole "is Gemma an unreliable narrator (??)" topic were being discussed.
