I hate to say it, but i fell in love with Ty. ok so yeah, he was a creepy stalker and he did kidnap her, but he really did save her. who knows what Josh was gonna do to her that night in the woods? ty saved her from him and on top of that, she just kept bullying him. I understand what she was feeling but come on, no matter what she did, he never hurt her ( even though she deserved to get slapped a couple times). I think Ty just needed a friend and when your stuck in that situation, shouldnt you be nice to your captor so he doesnt kill you? thats what i would do. The ending made me cry a little: how he traveled all the way to the mines to save her from dieing. i liked how the author didnt tell you what she was gonna say in court, but gave you two alternate endings so you can choose which one you liked. i also liked how the whole book was a letter to Ty. it was so cute. 5 stars.

I just don't like it. It gives me weird vibes
I find that I really love these kinds of books. Stockholm syndrome is such an interesting thing and reading stories about it is both confusing and overwhelming. The fact that part of you cheers for the villain, the kidnapper, hopes that at the end the MCs will be together again is both scary and awe-inducing. How can our hearts want that?
The writing was really lovely in this book. Gemma's voice was wonderful; descriptive, young but strong, weak at times too. Both she and Ty were very well developed, complex characters, and I enjoyed reading about them immensely.

Haunting story of a young girl and her kidnapper in the wild outback of Australia.
To be fair, I didn't read the blurb, so I thought this was going to be a typical YA love story. Was I wrong. Once I started this book, it was difficult for me to put down. Written with tenderness tinged with fear and the ever-personal use of "you" pronouns, this book is easily one of the best I've read in the YA genre.

I simply CANNOT believe this book. It brought tears to my eyes. I cant accept this end, no. It wasn't nearly as creepy as I hoped it would be but God, it was so good.
I will probably come back and expand on this review in the future. I thought about this book and the circumstances the girl in it experienced a lot. The basic outline of this book is a girl, Gemma, is kidnapped from a Bangkok airport and taken away to the Australian desert by her captor. This book is a letter to her captor.
I was drawn in from the very beginning. The writing has a way of pulling you in and keeping you reading to see what will happen next and how Gemma will be saved/rescued or will she? I do not want to write the ending here. The whole mystery of the book to me was how does this end. I was not disappointed.
