Un libro que empieza muy fuerte pero que luego decepciona considerablemente. El libro es una colección de artículos sobre diferentes aspectos de la filosofía que usa episodios, situaciones y personajes de Los Simpson como ejemplo y explicación. O eso se supone. La primera parte es muy sólida, porque usa a los protagonistas para explicar las ideas fundamentales de diferentes autores, y es francamente interesante. De ahí en adelante, decae vertiginosamente.
Tengo que darle una segunda lectura, quizá si me pilla en otras circunstancias y menos cansado me habría parecido mejor. Pero es decepcionante en una primera lectura.

Just the fact that this book exists is awesome. I love the chapter about Lisa and how we live in an anti-intellectual society. However, there is a downside: the essays are written in an academic format, and thus don't read fluidly, which I think would have made this book perfect.

Si bien tiene ideas interesantes, algunos de los mini ensayos son repetitivos. Creo que hay ciertas ideas filosóficas que se pueden explicar se forma muy sencilla y directa, con menos rodeos.

Enjoyable at times, tedious at others. Some of the essayists were barely able to work in more of than a few lines about The Simpsons, limply connecting it to ideas from a pet philosopher, and these essays, no matter how much they had to teach about philosophy, were mostly unentertaining, totally missing the point of the book. Other essays applied a specific philosophical lens to the show and were much more successful at both teaching and entertaining

I really enjoyed these series of essays on philosophy with the Simpsons as the starting point. My favorite essay has to be the one comparing Nietze to Bart. I was actually laughing while reading the essay!
