funny, but not a particularly life changing or helpful book. and i'm not sure how likely i would be to follow any of the recipes.

I wouldn't take all of Amy's hostessing tips, but she's got great retro recipes that I'll happily use for my next party.
funny informative lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

I expected more. Funny enough, but kind of a let down.

i liked this book less for the recipes or even for the writing but for the ways of thinking about hospitality. I loved the ideas of planning but also of going with what the moment brings. Helped to remind me to remember to plan for what i need in hospitality

I love this woman.

If you are looking for a book to listen to, this is a good road trip book that will give you the giggles the entire trip. At one point we wanted to try and do some of the crafts, because Amy made them so exciting to hear.

Fun book to skim through, not really a book meant for reading.

Don't dismiss this as a frivolous jokey kind of book - I made the spanikopita in there and it was INCREDIBLE. Seriously.

so far I can't stop laughing and I only picked it up from the library this morning! :) Love that Sedaris wit.

I really love that Amy's quirky personality comes through every page. It's kind of like reading your mom's cookbook from the 50s with Amy's twist on being a hostess. It was a lot of fun and I will buying myself a copy to keep.
