I really thought I would like this one - she's related to David Sedaris and she's supposed to be a satirical Martha Stewart. But, I didn't. Not at all. I just didn't find it funny. Though she sounds *exactly* like her brother. That was a tad strange for me.
Perhaps it's because I listened to the audiobook? Whatever the reason, it definitely fell short of my expectations.

This book has its funny moments, but most of the time I found the humor crass.
Had some good laughs with this one. Emily Post and Martha Stewart would be horrified!!!
You don't really read this book cover to cover. It's more of a coffee table/recipe/how-to-entertain book. What I did read, such as how to entertain a rich uncle who comes to visit, had me laughing out loud and actually provided me with useful tips and recipes. It’s a fun, relaxing read that I’ll be using to plan my next party.
Food and hilarity, plus some really good ideas and recipes. And hilarity.
Didn't know what to expect of this. Funny and actually kind of practical.
Love her and I could not stop laughing while reading this book!
Despite the illustrations and photos in it, I think this book would work so much better as an audiobook read by Amy. I recently attended an event where she gave a short speech and not a sentence went by without her drawing laughter from the audience. Honestly, comedy is all about timing and the delivery. edit | delete review
Much like the author, this book is an oddball, but it was fun to listen to while setting up the bar in the new house. Bonus: because it was audio, I now know how to pronounce “spanakopita” and “phyllo.”
