This one was more on par with first one. I loved the banter between them, the grumpy sunshine element, and all things Scottish of course. I also like how this one, more like the first book as well, was more about the actual main couple instead of all of the ancillary characters.

Enjoyed the dreams and "seers" magic in this book. I felt the romance was not as strong as the first two books in the series but still enjoyable. Some steamy scenes. Look forward to the last 2 books for the last 2 brothers.
I had a little bit of trouble rating this because I did enjoy most of the story.
What I didn’t like; I thought I was going to die from second hand embarrassment at the beginning! // I really don’t think the H’s past lovers added anything to the story and honestly I would’ve preferred if they weren’t mentioned at all and a different (plot) to explain certain things were used instead. I felt the pacing of the ILYs were weird. And the writing isn’t as detailed as what I normally enjoy. Like some scenes that I would be interested in are just glossed over, specifically the immediate aftermath of the villain being dealt with.
I did enjoy: the H even tho some of his dialogue talking about his past lovers were unnecessary for me. But his possessiveness was *chefs kiss* I also really enjoyed that the story progressed after they shared ILYs and the epilogue was decently sized tho that was also a nice change.

**6 Stars**
3.5 chili's
So, this is my first 6 star read for 2024. I can't believe it happened so fast and I absolutely LOVED this book. This is my favorite book out of the Midnight in Scotland series. I am so excited that the fourth one is coming out this year.
This had such dark and dangerous vibes going on for a historical. Clarissa is being stalked by a very dangerous and deadly man. She flees to Scotland to stay with her friend (the heroine from the first book). However, her stalker follows her to Scotland and the oldest brother, Campbell, takes her to his home to keep her safe.
Clarissa was such a sweet and adorable character. She was so attracted to the very big and tall Campbell, especially his large hands. I loved how she would always say inappropriate things around him. There were so many funny moments in this book. Campbell was such a stoic, serious, and grumpy hero. Campbell was such a dirty talker and the sex scenes were super hot.
There were so many amazing, swoon worthy parts of this book that I could gush about. I also loved all of the other side characters. This is one one of my new favorite historical romances. I also really enjoyed the mystical/magical moments in this more than the first book.

Graphic: Animal death, Stalking
Escaping from a stalker from London to Scotland, sunshiney Clarissa finds safety and an opportunity for love with her stoic, grumpy, protective Highlander.
* steamy dream sequences
* sparkling banter
* marriage of convenience
I continue to absolutely love this series. I love both the main and side characters and the overarching theme of family love. I cannot wait for the next installment.

ALL. OF. THE. STARS.
Elisa Braden is very quickly becoming my favorite author. Her heroines are all unique and strong but not over the top, tropey, or NLOG. Her banter is laugh out loud funny, more Mrs. MacBean please!
Loved the main idea here and how she pulled it together toward the end. Relevant, scary, perfectly executed.
