Beautifully Broken Control is a testament that we can all move beyond our pasts no matter how dark they are. Cain & Kennedy are both alone in their own worlds but have moved past their own heartache and darkness to choose who they want to be their family. They both struggle with loss and trust but find life and trust in each other.
4.25/5 stars.
I really enjoyed this one. I mean it was a Catherine Cowles book, so of course I enjoyed it. Kennedy's backstory was so unique and interesting, and I loved seeing a character that cared so much about others. It was still believable because Ms. Cowles made it believable, as she makes all of her characters feel real. I really though I had guessed the twist on this one but I was fooled once again.
The epilogue made my heart so happy. Seeing all the previous couples with their families made me want to cry. And now I'm so intrigued by who Mason is because we haven't met him yet...

This one was hard for me to rate. I really enjoyed it but there were parts that I felt were super quick or went realllyy slow.
Plot twist at the end was great!! Didn’t expect it at all!

The author keeps making this series better and better, all these books suck you in and bring you to this circle of friends and family and makes the reader feel like they are part of their tribe. Cain has been there for his friends Walker and Tuck through thick and thin just a s they were always there for him, but he is ready to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax plus he has someone in his company that is selling their secrets. Cain moves to Sutter Lake so he can spend time with his best friends and so he can figure things out with his company. This is where he meets Kennedy, he has an instant attraction to her, but he can see that she is hiding something in the same way he hides his demons. Kennedy has had a rough few years, she helped catch her father for running a Ponzi scheme and every since then her family hates her, people who were effected by the scheme hate her, and she has been spending every day since then trying to make up for what she thinks she should atone for even if none of it was her fault. She hides away trying to be grateful for the small things in life, she volunteers, she is the most kindhearted person and Cain recognizes this and has the incredible urge to always protect her. This was a journey of loving, understanding, forgiveness, and letting others into your life. I loved these two together and enjoyed their bond they had, and I loved we got to see the other characters we have all come to love and know. Beautifully Broken Control took me on an emotional rollercoaster and just like Kennedy I fell hard for Cain, demons and all.
What an absolutely beautiful love story; my heart is full of love for Kennedy and Cain. This is book was beautifully written. This is book four in the Sutter Lake series and it might just be my favorite so far (I’m sorry Tuck!). And I know, I always say that but there is just something about this book that touched my soul.
"It was as if her soul called to mine in song only the two of us could recognize. A broken siren’s song. And it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever heard."
I mean, how can you not fall in love with words like that. My heart was full of joy for Kennedy; everything she went through and yet she came out to be this amazing woman that was always looking for something positive in such a nasty world. "There is always something to be grateful for. Always." It’s hard to remember that some days and through Catherine’s words, I will try every day to remember that. Thank you for the beautiful words and this amazing story.

Sutter Lake Book 4
Another beautiful book in this series- I really liked Cain and Kennedys story. It wasn’t my favorite of the series but it was still an enjoyable read.
Kennedy held onto so much guilt for something she had no part of, Cain also carried a lot of guilt over the loss of his sister. This is more of a slow burn than the others but it works for them. The one negative thing I can say is that one of the conflicts felt like it came out of no where.
But the epilogue at the end more than made up for it- we got a peak into some of the other couples futures!
