This was my favorite book of the series. The slow burn/chemistry between Cain and Kennedy was spot on. I also enjoyed seeing all the couples from the previous books.

I have mostly accepted the fact the heroine for, EVERY SINGLE BOOK, will be kidnapped...that HUGE annoyance aside, this was a solid read.

Cain is a the founder and CEO of his patented security software, but he has a breach in security somewhere because his competitors are selling software like his at a steep discount. When he heads to Sutter Lake to take a step back while he works on his new product and figures out what to do about his security threat, he finds Kennedy. Kennedy had to start over after she exploded her old life for justifiable reasons she has sealed up in court records which makes her slate oddly clean to a security mogul like Cain.
Determined to get through his own therapy homework and eager to figure out what she's running from, Cain and Kennedy get closer. But the tide is a bit uneven with the weird accidents happening and Cain's triggers ever present themselves as a wedge between them. This one has a lot of external factors since neither character is from Sutter Lake, so their drama is coming to them. I really enjoyed this one and I'm ready to finish up with the last book soon!

3/5 ⭐️ was hoping for more of a country mountain town feel like the rest of the books, but still enjoyed nonetheless

Cain & Kennedy’s story was sweet. Cain continued the theme of alpha males who protect their woman at any cost just like the others in this series so far. One scene in particular where he put another guy in his place had me laughing. 🤣 The twist shocked me! Another enjoyable small town romantic suspense. 🩵 Now, one more to go to wrap up these wonderful series!
