I enjoyed this entire series! Cain and Kennedy were no exception. The pain they both carried with them, along with a world of guilty, almost seemed insurmountable. I loved watching them help each other heal.

I loved this book. The characters were fantastic, the mystery/suspense was perfect, the writing is amazing, and the story was unforgettable.
Cain is a tech genius with lots of money who has buried his past and refuses to give up control. But things are slipping and he just needs a break, to regroup, and what better place than with his best friend's who know him so well, Sutter Lake.
Kennedy is running from her past and all she wants is peace, a simple life, and to give back to those in need. Sutter Lake is the perfect landing spot. But Cain changes things for her, and she changes things for him. But they both got pasts haunting them, and hers might just be their end.
I loved that these characters seemed to just understand each other. They had a lot in common and yet they were different. I love that they both learned from each other. I loved how much Cain just want to be there for and keep Kennedy safe, and I love that she let him. The character development was on point. And of course, it was great getting to see the characters from previous books.

Enjoyed it, but didn’t have the chemistry of other couples in the series.
