This book wasn’t what I expected, it was so much better.
Cain and Kennedy both have past that have changed there futures dramatically. Kennedy has taken he past and tried her best to atone for the sins she thinks she’s guilty for even though her past isn’t her making. Cain in a similar fashion feels guilty for something he shouldn’t fee guilty for.
Cain turns his guilt into his very over protective nature. And turns it on Kennedy. And Kennedy hates it at first. Their relationship starts out pretty rocky but eventually friendship turns into more. But of course both their past come back to haunt them but in two totally different ways.
This book was epic. It a type of book you could read for days and never get tired of it. I could read about this couple and all the couple’s of Sutter Lake for years to come. You feel like you are part of the family when you read these books and I will be sad once this series ends.
Needless to say this book will not disappoint. Fall in love with Cain and Kennedy.

I really liked this one. My first intro to Catherine Cowles. But none of her others have lived up to this one yet.

After reading ‘Beautifully Broken Spirit’ a little while back, I knew I needed to read more books by Catherine Cowles. So when I saw the sign up for the blog tour of ‘Beautifully Broken Control’ I couldn’t sign up fast enough. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
In ‘Beautifully Broken Control’ we follow the story of Kennedy. We met Kennedy in the previous book, and she was definitely very mysterious. In this book we finally get to read Kennedy story. And what a story it is. Kennedy has had a seemingly perfect past, but a little while back she found out that everything she knew about her life was a lie. Now she is trying to start over, while trying really hard to help others in everyway she can. When she meets the very handsome, and very rich Cain, she wants to hide from him. But there is something between them they both can’t deny. And they slowly grow closer and closer. But Kennedy isn’t the only one with secrets.
When I read about Kennedy in the previous book in this series, I found myself being really curious about this character. There was just something about her I liked from the beginning. And I loved reading this book through her eyes. Kennedy is a really good person. And she has been trying to hide from her past. Working hard, doing a lot of volunteering, and not taking stuff she doesn’t really need. Like for example a car. Luxury is something she simple doesn’t want. And I loved her for that. Reading about her character made me feel really inspired. She has this jar with things she’s grateful for, and she adds a little paper to the jar almost every day. I love that!!
Cain’s character was just like Kennedy’s character, very mysterious. And I had so many questions about him. He was hardworking, handsome, rich and found life on his own the best. When he met Kennedy he felt this attraction to her almost immediately. And I found his character to be really fun to read about. Yes, he got a little out of control at times with wanting to take care of Kennedy. But I just really liked him.
The romance between Kennedy and Cain was definitely great to read about too. Their chemistry was definitely palpable, but most of all the way they started as ‘friends’ was really good. And I simple loved them.
Just as in the previous book this story takes place in the little town of Sutter Lake, and I loved that setting. There just something very charming about that town.
Yes, this book was definitely another great one. And I’m even more determined to read the first two books in this series I haven’t yet read. If you’re looking for a fun romantic small town romance novel, with some suspense, this book is definitely for you.

Kennedy and Cain are both running from their past. Kennedy is trying to atone for the sins of her family and Cain is trying to forget his family because of the heartache it caused him. But when their mutual friends bring them into each other's lives they can't deny their pull towards each other no matter how hard they try.
One of thing I love about this author is that she is able to create two characters that have their own issues that make them broken in their own way but their issues are comparable - so that they can relate even if they are both in denial. Both of these characters suffered loss but a different loss, both of them had parental issues but different issues but it made them able to connect because of that and as a reader I was able to see their connection on that level. This author has cemented herself as a one click author for me. I have been able to connect and related to everyone of her characters and books on some level. Her ability to make me swoon, laugh and cry all while keeping me on the edge my seat is remarkable.

Spoiler
I will say the kidnapping aspect of every story is getting a bit played but it won't stop me from one clicking her.
This book is the love story between newcomer Kennedy and fresh return Cain.
I give this book ⭐️⭐️.

This is definitely the last book I will be reading in this series. I don’t mind them overall but honestly, they all follow the exact same plot points. I just don’t see how it is realistic for four women from the same town to all have been kidnapped. There are other ways to do romantic suspense novels. Rant over haha.
I really don’t mind the books but the repetition is just too much for me! I will be trying some other Catherine Cowles books but not anymore Sutter Lake ones!
