This book is the love story between newcomer Kennedy and fresh return Cain.

This is definitely the last book I will be reading in this series. I don’t mind them overall but honestly, they all follow the exact same plot points. I just don’t see how it is realistic for four women from the same town to all have been kidnapped. There are other ways to do romantic suspense novels. Rant over haha.
I really don’t mind the books but the repetition is just too much for me! I will be trying some other Catherine Cowles books but not anymore Sutter Lake ones!

The female characters was a little overreacted in this story, that's why it's not 5 star for me.
This is Catherine Cowles’s best book yet! I never wanted this book to end and savored every second of it. Cain and Kennedy were so beautifully matched up with their broken backgrounds they were hiding from but the present forced it to be dealt with. Both are set in their ways because of their pasts and I loved their journey to finding a way to trust and compromise to make their relationship work. Kennedy and Cain both tugged at my heart strings and I felt everything they went through and by the end of the book was wishing for it not to be over. This book can be read as a stand alone but you get the full effect of it if you read all the Sutter Lake books before hand.

I won’t make this long. It started good, I think this was the one that moved me the most, especially with Kennedy’s background. That prologue was good and painful. The first half is great, I was really into it. This was a solid 3.5 star book. But then, the conflict happened. It was exactly the same as the others which was tiring and disappointing. Then, the whole Cain’s past thing... we never get to see that conversation, which again, disappointing. The fight before the conflict was... uncomfortable?? I felt bad for Kennedy and happy for her cause she was thinking about herself. What bothered me the most was how fast Cain changes from “I can’t talk about this” to “here. I open my mind and past to you.” Like, then what was the whole point of the second half??? Oh, the Jake thing? predictable. The people from the conflict were a bit unexpected but because they did THE EXACT SAME THING as the other books, it was meh.
I was excited to meet Cain cause it was the one we knew the less about, but he was meh. Didn’t love him. I’m sad this was the last book cause it wasn’t the best. Loved the gang. Not the best series I’ve read but the firsts are okay.

Catherine continues to impress me. The Sutter Lake Series is one of my favorite worlds to immerse myself in. Cain & Kennedy’s story was no different, their chemistry was incredible, their heartbreak was real & their beautiful love had be swooning. Catherine Cowles knows how to layer a story so perfectly, the romance, the suspense, the emotions, they are all so real that you put the book down feeling as if you just lived it. Bravo.
Sutter Lake series is one of the best small town romances and Catherine is amazing, her writing just pulls you right in.
This story is about Cain and Kennedy. Cain is protective, a little overbearing at times, he is mysterious and he is trying to recover over his past. There was definitely an Alpha in Cain, and I was here for it. Kennedy is caring, sweet, friendly and I love that she got her own story. Cain and Kennedy were a great match, they both learned to help each other move on from on from the past, without forgetting completely. Their past are what helped build the character they are in this book.
Their story was a great edition to the Sutter Lake series. This series is great, It always fun to see characters from past books and see side characters get their own stories. This series and book was filled so much love between two people and the friends/family around them.
*thank you Catherine Cowles and Socialbutterfly PR for the opportunity to read and review*

I don’t want this series to be over! I loved this book so much! As with the others in this series I was hooked from the very beginning! I could not put this book down! You will get all the feels reading this one. After reading this book I will be adding a new jar to my bookshelf! Whether you come from a lot or nothing there is always something to be grateful for. Catherine Cowles was a new to me author before starting this series and she now in the must read category for me!
Beautifully Broken Control is a testament that we can all move beyond our pasts no matter how dark they are. Cain & Kennedy are both alone in their own worlds but have moved past their own heartache and darkness to choose who they want to be their family. They both struggle with loss and trust but find life and trust in each other.
Catherine Cowles have written another passionate, suspenseful, and touching story! I've loved going back time and time again to Sutter Lake. I feel like I personally know these characters, and that makes each one of their stories that much more heartwarming. This audio is narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Aaron Shedlock.
In this story, we get Kennedy and Cain's story. These two characters both have dark, complicated pasts. Kenndey is looking for a fresh start after a falling out with her family. Cain is looking to get out of the city and finally get a place at Sutter Lake to be closer to Walker and Tuck. The journey these two go on together is full of ups and downs, and heartache. I love how these two finally find that they are indeed stronger and better together. Catherine also adds her signature element of suspense in the end of the story, that ultimately helps these characters find that they are meant to be together!
Overall, this is another five star book/ listen for sure! Maxine Mitchell is amazing as always, bringing out all of Kennedy's painful and loving features. Aaron Shedlock does a great job of showcasing Cain's wounded past and his hopeful future. Both narrators have been absolutely fabulous through this entire, series! I'm so excited that Catherine writing a 5th book in the Sutter Lake series! I can't wait! I love this series so much. Catherine has quickly become one of my new favorite authors!

This was quite a different read.
Cain was an unusual male lead ( sorry, it just feels weird to call any of the men in these books - not just Catherine Cowles - I literally mean to call any of them 'heroes'... apart from Chace Keaton ) in as much as he is incredibly vulnerable... it found this trait to be very different to what I had expected from his brief cameos in previous books. And quite appealing. I loved Kennedy's jars...
The villains of the piece were not unexpected in a very Jessica Fletcher kind of way.
All in all a pleasant read with a few healthy tugs on the heartstrings...
Although... I do feel shortchanged on the epilogue... I mean, c'mon... it was the last in the series... I wanted more!!!
Oh... and I don't think I would ever want to live in Sutter Lake... way way too dangerous for me, I think I would be safer in Midsomer...
