🧡 Bookish Thoughts

This was the perfect cozy fantasy read! I needed something feel good, low angst, witty, and full of found family love and this absolutely delivered. I adored Fin as the MC but the side characters were just as lovable. Kraken the cat familiar completely stole my heart 😍😍

I devoured this in nearly one sitting and it was the best way to wrap up my Friday night.

Home was the feeling of care and warmth. When Fin felt the most at ease wasn’t when he used his powers to defend his hearth, it was when he used them to make everyone and everything feel good, relaxed, content, and fulfilled. It was the place where you could rest and be whole. Free of disputes and divides.

Let's face it. This didn't start off as the greatest book, but it was nice and cozy and I was somewhat enjoying myself. However, as soon as I realized that the white narrator decided to put on an offensive stereotypical black accent for all of the cats I immediately dnf'd this book. I was honestly shocked and appalled to hear that and was even more shocked and appalled to find that barely anybody is talking about this because that is absolutely disgusting.
