A strong feminist, fantasy read!! Worth every star - it is one of my favorite fantasy reads now!
Deka’s journey shows strength, self acceptance and not letting your past pain stop you. Keita was the perfect male character for this story, and the perfect man for Deka. Not afraid of a strong woman, but not forcing her to be strong alone. I also have a soft spot for Britta because we all need that friend we can trust more than anyone else ☺️
Found family is my favorite trope and this book delivered that without a doubt!

Wow, what a great story! This was a very well written book with great world building. I loved following Deka's journey as she discovered more about herself and really grew into her role. I felt that the budding relationship between Deka and Keira was a bit shallow in terms of writing, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. But otherwise, it's a great book and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
