The Gilded Ones is a decent debut novel. It has messages that all should take to heart: WOMEN , GIRLS MATTER. However i did have some issues with the beginning half of the book. There was a lot of repetition in the writing , could have been more concise. Getting a bit passed halfway through the story started to pick up and i really got into it. Started to root for Deka and her friends (BloodSisters) I also like the backdrop of love interest - it was sweet and wholesome. Empowered people that their beliefs are valid ( those waiting for marriage ) This portion was quite empowering and hope it empowers young girls and boys to accept themselves, wholly and unconditionally.
Overall , the writing was telling the reader how the characters felt, did etc instead of showing it. So it didn’t leave anything for the reader to form mental pictures as the writing flowed. The simple writing allows for the potentiality of it being picked up for a movie or tv show, which i think should happen. But who knows.

DID NOT FINISH

Unfortunately Dnf’d I was really hopeful and loved the premise but unfortunately the book wasn’t for me personally I can see why people enjoy it though.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Gilded Ones and found my reading experience to be exceptional. The world-building is both spectacular and richly developed. Deka emerges as a fascinating character, and I appreciate the diverse cast that supports her journey. Ixa, the animal companion, is particularly endearing. The narrative is filled with unexpected twists that maintain engagement throughout. The friendships, particularly among the Bloodsisters and the character of Britta, are memorable. The love interest adds significant depth to the story. The themes explored, such as grief, torture, self-empowerment, and equality, resonate powerfully. Overall, I appreciate how The Gilded Ones concludes while effectively setting the stage for the next installment in the Deathless Trilogy, The Merciless Ones.

Very simple. Moved along but it did feel as if there was a lot of time skips/leaps but still not a bad book. Quick and easy read.
