Supposed to be shifters. No shifting, no world building. "Packs" are vaguel  mentioned.

Some books work for me and some don't. This one did. The previous one that didn't was "just a bit twisted" which I started immediately before this. And this was like alpha werewolf shifter stuff but it felt so much more realistic, like emotionally? Cartoonishly evil villains aside.

Anyway, will probably read more from this series. Smut was on point.

I absolutely loved this book, it's the first I've read in this series and I will definitely go back and read the others. I love a strong Alpha that takes care of those he cares for. There's steam, love, tenderness, and so much more.

This could have been much better. Dimitri taking care of Brook was sweet, but I didn’t get the sense of his feelings toward Brook until he said he loved him. Like others have pointed out, he never even touches Brook’s dick!! I wanted him to admit his attraction to Brook as a man, but he never says that he is anything but straight.

Liked it. These characters are only loosely connected to the Armitages - Brook is the cousin of Drew, the alpha of the escaped prisoner pair in the previous book, Lost Touch. That's it, though, it's really a standalone. That's great, love a standalone (more stories in a world I like is always a win) but also I missed the Scoobies, lol. I also desperately wanted a Dimitri chapter.
