I didn’t love it but I really enjoyed reading this. I’m not rushing to finish this series any time soon. I’m all for strong leading women and Jessica Day/Jillian Knight is a primary example of that.
She is sooo messed up. Nine-ways-to-Sunday messed up, but I love how sure she is about her self when it comes to her strengths.
I enjoyed exploring the relationship her and her brother had. Their relationship and their back story was definitely one of a kind
Luke and AJ get two thumbs up.
First Re-Read:
3.5 stars. Jillian. My love. Jackson. My love.

I can't say how impressed I am with this book. I have never read this author before, but my friends have raved about this series. I'm not sure why I put off reading it....the blurb maybe?
I absolutely loved Jessica and her snark, which was some of the best I've read, including some really good romantic comedies. But, given the heavy nature of the storyline, this was a complete surprise. The snarky humor blended so well with the dark topics and just made me love Jessica all the more.
I am ready to jump right into book number two, because I HAVE TO. I can't not finish this series.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I honestly don't know how to review this book. It was so unexpected yet captivating. I'm curious to see where the story will go.

I can't really go too much into what the book is about because then it'll just spoil it for everyone who has yet to read it. It is told from a third-person point of view and includes flashbacks, so readers are able to discover Jillian Knight and her relationship with AJ Monaghan while also learning about her past as Jessica Day and her relationship with Dr. Luke Jones. Suffice it to say that Jillian/Jessica has a lot going on and that behind her beauty lingers a darkness that she is very aware exists and it frightens her to a degree.
I love how readers are given the option to end this book where it says to be "the end" or to proceed to the cliffhanger. While I've often bitched about cliffhangers being evil, I will confess that I'm a masochist when it comes to all things books, so I went ahead and read the cliffhanger...which was evil...but certainly had me wishing it were December already and had the second book in my hands. Do yourselves a favor and read End of Day because we all deserve to read books that are as good as this one. It gets five-plus stars. ♥
