Couldn't put it down! Lovely book with characters that I wanted to spend more time with.

I really liked this book, especially the small town aspects in parts of it. the banter was some of the best I've ever read and the dog was my favorite. However, the pacing was a bit off.

On paper, Funny You Should Ask had the potential for a great story with some of my favorite tropes. In reality, I felt like Elissa kept telling us things about the characters rather than ever letting the characters show the reader their qualities and emotions. I've been thinking all day about why I didn't enjoy this book and the best way I could describe it succinctly is that it felt like it was missing a first act and also chunks of the plot.

I like the style but it just didn't hit right with this particular plot. It was too long for how little happened.

To all the haters: KEEP HATING!!! This book is in my pantheon of most important rom-coms. I laughed, I cried, I SWOONED for Mr. Gabe Parker!!!

This book did need like a tiiiiiny bit more spice but their banter was sexy enough for me!

As a Jewish woman, I never see good representation of Jews being hot and desirable, so it was refreshing to see the main character be a normal Jew and the eye of a hunky, hot mega movie star who says his town isn’t perfect because there are no synagogues. And knows what Shabbat is. It’s a fucking win in my book.
