The Zumra in this book is actually crazy, and some of the characters' relationships and actions got me contemplating everything. I just love found family, and it really drives home this book as a great personal.
BUT there are 2 things that make this a 4 star instead of 5.
Firstly, the inclusion of Altair's pov threw me off quite a few times. NOT THAT I DIDN'T LIKE IT, but it just felt unnecessary at times. We, as the reader, already have a base understanding of Altair, and having a new pov mixed in with Zafiras and Nasirs was kinda left field to me. (Not that I couldn't distinguish the narrators. This was written extremely well in that sense. It could also be that the audio version I listened to had the same voice actor, so I had a harder time understanding the characters individually. Maybe at the end of each act? Or give these chapters a circumstance so the reader can expect it.
Second, this book was just really long. That isn't necessarily a problem, but I just found myself getting bored or distracted at times. For example, Zafira's inner monologue often has quips or lines from other characters. That is fine, but it felt very overused. There was alot of time that i just sat tehre and thought, something is happening but why is it taking so damn long??
Overall loved it, I got some aro rep so i cant fucking complain.
