This was absolutely PHENOMENAL and is most certainly making my favourite YA fantasy series list! It’s one of those books where I want to give it 1000 stars because how much it made me feel and hurt and break my heart, only to mend it back together again.

It was much better than the first book because all the issues I had with the first book were fixed here - better pacing, less confusion in terms of conveying the plot, and definitely more relationship development and BEAUTIFUL ANGST between Nasir and Zafira. I love them and their relationship so much and I am very confident when I say they are some of my new favourite couples ever.

Also — can we talk about that PERFECT ending? Because it really was.. to the very last word!

Honestly, do yourself a favour and read this if you want amazing plot, characters, world building and romance because THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL!

I genuinely loved and enjoyed the duology. Really. Truly.

But my heart aches for Yasmine so, so much. I felt like Misk's death was uncalled for. Yasmine lost everyone and I wished that 'everyone' didn't include Misk.

But all in all, it was such an amazing adventure.

I read this book so fast because I simply couldn't put it down. Every single one of these characters felt like family and I'm so happy they all got their happy endings (even though I so want to read more about Kifah and Yasmine and Altair). Only wish Zafira and Nasir had more scenes together

Such a beautiful story! I loved Nasir and Zafira. It really bothered me that Zafira was only 17 years old lol. They were all so adult lije that the age didn't fit well in my head.

I'm also a little sad not having an update about how life is with the Ifrit living among them.

Overall, this book was amazing!
