There is nothing in the world I love more than being gripped completely by a story to the point I can't stop reading for hours on end. This was that kind of book for me.
Tough the pacing felt at times too slow—partly because of the repetitiveness of the characters' inner thoughts—the strong writing and immersive world-building made up for it, with each character's voice remaining distinct even during POV shifts.

This was a beautiful half to a wonderful duology. The world is an imaginative blend of fantasy and Arabic culture and language, and all the characters were so well fleshed out with a variety of relationships and challenges throughout!
