A fitting end and a wonderful conclusion to a new fav series. I love loveee these characters and whilst I'm happy with how everything was tied up I won't lie I could read about them just living their lives and be content. The writing. I need a moment to speak about it, even though I spoke about that in the first book I just need to reemphasis how insanely talented Hafsah Faizal is. I had goosebumps on multiple occasions, just a real wordsmith and it adds such lushness to the series as a whole. If I was the annotating type I wouldn't know when to stop..

The zumra are my precious babies and all the mentions of their bond and what it meant - truely hurt me in the best way possible. They're each complex characters who came into this whole thing with their own motivations and leave it with so so much more than any of them could have hoped or wished for. Once again I want to mention the lore of the world was so interesting, the way that continued to unfold with the wolf, the silver witch and co. was executed masterfully. So much led us to the events of this book and it really feels like a cresendo of all those things. The themes of atonement, fighting for hope even where it seems there is none and forever holding the flame of those who have sacrificed in the zumra's fight for all people of Arawiya was just handled so well.

I'm so glad I finally picked this series up and I'll continue screaming about it till everyone else does too.

there was NO reason for this book to be as long as it was. lost my interest between 30-70%! I pressed on for zafira.

but I ❤️ hafsah faizal. immaculate writing, even if I think the fragmented sentences and the way she wrote romance are quite weird :P
