And here it starts to detoriate. Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead were both absolutely wonderful, but this isn't. Ok, there are e few things I really liked about the book, but it is in no way on par with the two previous books. Don't read it is you want to remember the series in a good way.

Orson Scott Card said this book was the most wordy and philosophical of the series and he wasn't lying. It also had a lot of physics that was a little hard to understand. I don't think it was as good as the first two, but I don't really know how it could have been better. I didn't care for a lot of the characters, but I was still engrossed in the story. There was constant bickering, and it was a bit annoying.

This book is definitely the most philosophical of the series so far. It had a few really long chapters, which affects how I read a book apart from the actual quality of the book, unfortunately. But I really enjoyed the philosophy and theology and am left with much to contemplate.

I've reread this series many times and this is by far the weakest book. It's interesting with some novel ideas and concepts but far too philosophical and talk-heavy.

Unrelated to the quality of the actual book, this time through I listened to the audiobook - would NOT recommend. The worst audiobook I've ever listened to. The Hive Queen's "voice" was unbearable, and the Chinese accent the narrator took on to narrate Wang-mu's chapters was insensitive and, frankly, badly done. I was very disappointed.

Man, I really liked this one up until about 60%. I was skimming the science/philosophy parts and just really enjoying the story, but then it became JUST about the science and philosophy and started sucking. Ugh. No more Ender saga for me.

I wish there was a way to use this book in a classroom setting to teach about ethics. The dilemmas throughout this installment of Ender’s tale leave you closing a chapter and needing put the book down for a spell just to let it simmer. Great and difficult book.
