Enjoyable romp, but I prefer Thursday's outworld adventures to her book world adventures.

This book is funny on so many levels, it just makes me laugh so hard. It pokes fun at all things political and it's just hilarious. It is very creative, and I recommend reading it when you have at least 30 minutes a sitting, I kept reading it in 10 minute increments and it was harder to get thru until I just sat down and gave it the time it deserved.
I can't get over how creative this author is. I've loved this whole series and can't wait for the 6th book comes out in January of 2011.

The Fourth in the Eyre Affair series, not counting the book that got erased during the action of this book. Confusing but fun.

Very glad to see Thursday Next back in action. As always, very fun, with new twists. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

after 'something rotten', i thought i just needed a Thursday Next respite... but i think now, Thursday and I need a clean break. The quirky, funny things about BookWorld and the Outland and Jurisfiction were all just a muddied jumble in this one. I was never quite sure which storyline to invest in, there were 3 mediocre plots happening the entire time. Unsatisfying ending that led to a terrible "stay continued for our next adventure!!" cliffhanger.

In my opinion this wasnt the best JJasper Fford book around but it is still a fun switch the brain off read.

This one was a bit of a muddle in the middle, but Fforde always knows how to write an exciting ending that pulls all the narrative threads together in unexpected ways.

Ok reviewing the 5th in a series is rough. Clearly I enjoy the Thursday Next books or I wouldn't continue reading them. It is a very good, very quirky and referential series that is fun for all bibliophiles.

I will say with each succession Fforde takes more and more chances with pure absurdity and that's pretty much all I need. If The Eyre Affair dissapointed in any way it was that it failed to fully deliver on the premise of book travel; each subsequent iteration has made up for that.

Much too self-referencing and almost defensive about the series. It was okay, but I understand why I didn't finish it the first time.

A more entertaining and complex entry than Something Rotten, but honestly, any book in this series is worth your time. This one stands out, though. A few emotional barbs that catch you unawares....
