I loved it. The twists and turns Jasper makes always take me by surprise, and this time no less so.
The relationship between Thursday and Landon makes me smile, and shake my head... and then smile some more.

Another great book from Jasper Fforde. The latest book in the Thursday Next series manages to maintain the level of wit and literary references proffered in the rest of the series. I wouldn't really say this about many authors, but Fforde really is brilliant. Somehow Thursday Next becomes an even more likable character than in her previous incarnations.
Like all the Thursday Next books, convoluted plot that feels too slow and hilarious sidetracks. Overall, very enjoyable at the page-to-page level, not so much for the overall scope.
It just didn‘t grip me as much as the previous ones, felt like it went on forever. Might pick it up again in a few months/years.
There are very few books I've read that have made my laugh internally nevermind make a sound burst from my lips. But, this series manages it every time. And numerous times too.
It's definitely my type of humour, from Spike's description of a devil, to the name of Friday's band, to the state of reality TV shows (Celebrity Kidney Swap) in their version of the world.
Very funny indeed.
I very much hope the series is finished someday.

The Thursday Next series just keeps getting better and better. Ingenious, funny, with plenty of twists in the plot, cheese smuggling, a stupidity surplus and trying to stop the end of the world, what more could you want. I love the funny references to other works of fiction, I spot new ones evey time I re-read them. Already looking forward to part 5 and the 'serial killer', I laughed out loud at that, you'll have to read the book to find out what I mean. Brilliant! One piece of advice, if you are going to read the Thursday Next books you need to read them in order or you're going to get very confused!
Once again a good book in the Thursday Next series. I love the humour and the plots, they never get boring. Up until the end it felt like the last part of the series and I was wondering what else could come after this but Jasper Fforde again managed to create a major cliffhanger and enough story to evolve in another book. Good that I already have book 6 waiting in my shelf.
3.5 for another solid Thursday Next book. The plot is a bit all over the place and there are a few too many threads. It's always good to see the old Spec Ops and Jurisfiction crews again though.
Thursday Next is back!!!! In BookWorld, she is busy training herself version5 to be a Jurisfiction agent, trying to stop the Council of Genres from carrying out their typically stupid ideas, and trying to figure out who is trying to kill her. In the "real world" she is still involved in SpecOps, now fronted by Acme Carpets and yes, Next has to actually do installs - the one with Spike is excellent fun. Oh, and Friday, her laze-about son, is supposed to be joining the Chronoguard or there will be dire consequences, but he refuses. Fun twists and clever writing as usual. Great read. I wanna bookjump! 073007
Not my favorite of the Thursday Next books, but still good!
