Is there a level below "utter garbage?" Because this is down there. Just an ugly story... a real shaggy dog of a mystery that leads one direction, then completely shifts direction at the last minute without any lead-up whatsoever. And then, of course, they go the classy route by actually relying on the violent, on-panel rape of a character as a selling point. I still can't believe DC editorial, not to mention their bosses at Time-Warner, actually let this fly. If you're sort of person who actually likes to see beloved icons of childhood treated this way, guess what? You're not coming within a mile of my kid.

This had every superhero and supervillan you would want to know. The story was delicious and thought provoking. It made me think about the families that stand behind the superheroes and the angst that that have to go through.

I think that service men and women, firefighters, police officers and others in dangerous professions must have similar worries about their families.

I’m not too big into DC, so I didn’t recognize a lot of the characters in this series. But it was a great mashup of heroes and villains, and an interesting plot with an even more interesting culprit. My prediction for the ending was wrong several times, and that was a pleasant change for a comic.

I LOVED this book all the way up until the end twist. The suspense was cranked high the entire time and just incredibly well done. Wasn’t happy with the twist, though—to keep it spoiler free, I thought it kinda defeated some of the intensity of the rest of the book.

++lots of feels
-/+ minor character deaths also mean exactly that... it might seem like a small matter to some
+the constant past actions of morality and what our heroes have gone through and done keep it intriguing
-feel like some of the Super Man “ignoring” seems out of character
-have a serious doubt about why a couple of the other killings would have happened after the reveal and the motivation
+kept me guessing
+an emotional ride
++narrator switches

Hands down amazing sleuth graphic novel series.

Was a little hard for me to read because I’m not used to reading comics but with that in thought it kept my attention. Very good for only reading it because my boyfriend thought I would like it. Might actually try to pick up more like it. 😊

Identity Crisis is a murder mystery novel in superhero form. It features the entire Justice League and luckily relies on several narrators as the story progresses, giving us insight into each of their points of view on the situation. The mystery itself was a head-scratcher for me, and I definitely didn't guess the ending beforehand, which made for a really interesting read. What's best about this one, though, is that it has a lot of heart. The characters all have thoughts and feelings, and you can really see that on their faces throughout the book. It takes a talented author and illustrator to make me care about Elongated Man and become interested in Green Arrow, but these guys did it!
