Strangers in my Bed

Jade West

3.3 AVERAGE

This book is more serious than I imagined before I started.
A story about grooming and gas lighting but with a happy ending for the main character.

Triggering but Therapeutic

This author knows a thing or two about narcissistic abuse… I was so triggered reading it but I was rooting for the heroine the entire time. I could’ve been her. There is an HEA but there’s a lot of darkness to get to it, just like in real life. I mean I wasn’t having gang bangs with ten guys but the deception and manipulation was spot on.

Thank you, Jade West, for always thinking outside of the box and blowing our minds with the stories you write.

I’m honestly speechless writing this. I don’t want to be one of those who give away the story because that’s no fun.

Cass is already fragile and heartbroken, so when she meets Ant, she is Vulnerable, and he is giving her affection and praise, and that’s something she is craving right now. Imagine being told all the right things and being wined and dined, but things are not always as they seem.

This book is filled with twists and turns, and you will be like, WTF at the second part of the book.

Jade West is QUEEN of kinky dirty spice, and she definitely gave us some SPICY scenes!

Ant and Cass’s story was an experience, and trust me; you won’t be forgetting this one.

⭐⭐.5/5

What did I just read? Honestly, I'm in complete shock and absolutely mind f'ed after reading all that. This was definitely not the romance book I thought it would be.

This book is definitely not for the faint-hearted and was absolutely nothing like what I thought it was going to be after reading the initial blurb.

Wedding planner Cassandra meets a handsome and rich man named Ant at one of the weddings she helped organize. From there she falls blissfully in love and seems to somehow not see any BLATANT red flags until it's too late. I won't say much more than this because I don't want to drop any spoilers, but there are some twists and turns, some predictable and some thankfully not.

Also, there is a trigger warning for this book, but please, please, please do not take it lightly. This book is dark and gritty, filled with an immense amount of gaslighting and emotional abuse that left me screaming non-stop at my kindle.

But don't fret, there is a HEA at the end, not the one you think, but one nonetheless.

Honestly, I'm still unsure about whether I would recommend this book to anyone, even my dark romance reader friends, but if you want to take the risk and read it for yourself, all I can recommend is to brace yourself.

So Emotional

Although this book made me uncomfortable at times, I appreciate the insight it provided me. I couldn’t stop reading how this story unfolded. I felt so many emotions for the heroine during the descriptions of the painful journey of her relationship with Ant. I loved the character of the crusader and was glad of the protective friendship he gave.

Oh my god.. where do I even begin??

Jade West is one of the kinkiest and erotic authors ever - of course she does not disappoint. However, I was truly not expecting what this book gave me.
•heavy on the degradation

We first meet Cass, a black hair beauty about to turn 30 in the middle of doing what she does best - planning weddings. However, today is a little different because the love of her life is marrying someone else. Trying to recover from heartbreak she indulges in a few glasses of champagne. But before making her exit, she attracts the attention of someone very handsome. Taking the opportunity to drown out her heart, she enacts in somewhat of a one night stand with this handsome stranger.. but they quickly fall down a rabbit hole and become obsessed with each other. And their story blossoms.

Ant, 42 businessman, is portrayed as a stellar guy and showers Cass with lavish gifts, but these gifts come with an expense.

What do you do when you have a second chance at love?
To have the life you have always dreamed of having?
Your big day and a chance at starting a family?

Do you jump all in and ignore everything you've ever known?

At a glance you might think this book borderlines reverse harem, but it is not. Due to the extent of the storyline, I don't think I would classify this has a romance; however, there is a HEA.

This book is pretty heavy and I encourage those to take the trigger warnings seriously.

*Thank you social butterfly for the ARC - this is my honest review*

My Gosh!!

I'm an emotional wreck!!! This book wreck in. It was hard to read at times!! I was so triggered by Case's situation but I couldn't reading. I had to know she would be saved. My goodness this book is brutal in its TRUTH. I loved it and I hope it reaches who it needs to reach. I expected nothing but perfection from Jade, and I got it.
