I feel this book would make an excellent video game. To me it had everything: Action, adventure, battling corruption, alien exploration, a pinch of romance, mystery, and political intrigue. I loved how the story unfolded for both the humans and the Kiln. Despite have a love/hate relationship with several characters, I was always rooting for them. It did feel like a riff on Children of Time, but that's not a bad thing.
