Firstly, the cover is misleading, it's not all cute and shit.
And almost 500 pages is way too long.

The dual timeline is interesting but I was so frustrated. I feel like 70% of the book gave nothing. Yeah, past was cool and fun but present was toxic and frustrating.
Ian is a cute MMC and he really broke my heart when
Spoilerasking her to choose him.
I fucking cried. That's your VIP ticket to my book bf list.

Her boyfriend, instead of proposing, wants to open up their relationship and then get married at the end? And she considers it?!? Dumb asf! And her friend deserved to be cut off years ago, a leech! But that’s what you get for having no backbone. And did she really think
she could hide going on a date with his dad forever ?
?? Girl has no brain. Which is obvious when she was going to marry someone she knew she wasn’t in love with and who wasn’t in love with her just for the sake of being married.
It was also really slow and hard to get into in the beginning. It took a while to get invested.
Their smut was hot and I really like him. Love a man who sees what he wants and goes after it, being down bad for his girl. Unfortunate that his girl strung him along. He just deserved someone who put him first and chose him without hesitation.

I love Ian

Thank you so much to the author for this INCREDIBLE ARC

This was a fun and spicy read! I had very strong feelings of loathing toward every single side character! They all seemed despicable! But the main characters were incredibly endearing. The way it was written with dual timelines had me flipping the pages non stop!

I really enjoyed Desserts for Stressed People so I was looking forward to reading The Wedding Menu!

Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into it. I don't mind slow burns but this one just felt exceptionally slow. Also while I loved Ian, I just couldn't bring myself to like Amelie, just didn't like the way it felt like she was taking advantage of him?

Overall, this book fell flat for me, but I'm still looking forward to the next book to be written by this author!

I ate this book up. It’s not too often that you come across a contemporary romance that has a genuinely compelling plot. The banter was refreshing and the choices and emotions involved were very real and written well.

And no 3rd act breakup???? Praise Jesus

Okay I’m giving this a 4.5 and let me tell you, it was soooo close to a 5 but I just couldn’t get into it at first.. once I did though my god I couldn’t stop!

I loved that we moved between two different timelines yet they weren’t really that far apart and quite a lot of the times they matched up too which was fun. The writing was sooo good and as was the smut which we all know is super important
