ARC received for an honest review.
This is my first book from this author. Her writing is great but I just didn’t enjoy the story. Amelie is a chef and “engaged” to an a-hole named Frank. She meets a man at a friend’s wedding and they become friendly. He doesn’t want love. Now, a year later the two run into one another and Amelie is single. However, they find out their fathers are rivals in the restaurant business. Will they or won’t they? The series of flashbacks to what happened to Amelie’s relationships between the men in her life and her terrible friend.
I didn’t know this would be only 1 POV. The flashbacks to Amelie’s relationship with Frank was so frustrating. I wanted to throw my iPad a few times, especially with her friend stealing all of her wedding ideas.
It was a slow burn to the spicy scene, but it was good nonetheless.

“The Wedding Menu" by Letizia Lorini tells a beautiful yet heartbreaking love story marred by years of miscommunication. The shocking deceit of the father adds a dramatic twist, deeply affecting the family.
The novel's food theme is a standout, with vivid descriptions of French cuisine enriching the narrative. The wedding menu symbolically ties the story together, making it a feast for both the heart and senses.
Overall, this poignant novel blends romance and culinary delight, making it an unforgettable read. The food theme was particularly enjoyable and added a unique flavor to the story.

I truly enjoyed this one! The narration was great and the audio production was done well. I loved how this was a new take on the “rival families” trope. This entire plot line felt so original while still giving us some classic romance tropes we all love. The dual timeline kept me listening as fast as I could to get to the point where you figure out what happened. I only have two small complaints. I don’t think Martha should’ve been forgiven. She is the villain no matter what to me. I also found myself becoming frustrated with the FMC for being such a doormat to everyone around her! BUT with that being said, I did thoroughly enjoy this and will continue reading/listening to Letizia’s work!

It's official, I am a Letizia Lorini FAN!
Ian is *chef's kiss* (no pun intended) - I loved this man. I found Amelie's character to be super relatable. But my god these characters really went through it to find their way to their happily ever after.
Regardless of the fact they developed feelings for one another, the friendship between Ian and Amelie was best friend goals. The friend date Ian took Amelie on? The way that man supported her and encouraged her to do what she wanted and what was best for her. The way he boosted her confidence?! I think we all want a man who would be our hype guy for life and that's exactly what Ian is for Amelie.
There was roadblock after roadblock and so many circumstantial situations that took place over the course of the two timelines that seemed to keep Ian and Amelie just out of reach for one another.
I appreciated Amelie growing into herself and finding a way to say no to the people in her life who have a tendency to treat her like a doormat.
- golden retriever hero
- dual timeline
- chef x rival restaurant manager
- forced proximity
- texts messages
- slow burn
- friends to lovers
- second chance romance
- wedding
- work romance

had to DNF !! I know it's a dual timeline but anyone who is backed into a corner and agrees to a open relationship... major red flag !!

“How many weddings does it take to fall in love?”
The Wedding Menu is a spicy romcom that will leave you laughing out loud. This book is told in two different time lines; one year ago Amelie was with her “pre-fiancé”, had a best friend and had a stable job. At a wedding she meets Ian who turns her world upside down. Now one year laster and she lost everything until she ran into Ian at his home town.
Let me start off with what I liked about this book:
- [ ] Multiple time lines!
- [ ] Ian is amazing!!
- [ ] Ian and Amelie’s chemistry
- [ ] The spicy scenes❤️
