“How many weddings does it take to fall in love?”

The Wedding Menu is a spicy romcom that will leave you laughing out loud. This book is told in two different time lines; one year ago Amelie was with her “pre-fiancé”, had a best friend and had a stable job. At a wedding she meets Ian who turns her world upside down. Now one year laster and she lost everything until she ran into Ian at his home town.

Let me start off with what I liked about this book:
- [ ] Multiple time lines!
- [ ] Ian is amazing!!
- [ ] Ian and Amelie’s chemistry
- [ ] The spicy scenes❤️‍

Meet Ian, the embodiment of perfection, with charisma that leaves you weak in the knees. His golden retriever-like charm and witty lines will win you over from the first page. And then there's Amelie, whose heart-wrenching struggles and love for butter add a delightful touch of quirkiness to the story.

Lorini's ingenious use of dual timelines creates a fast-paced storytelling experience, seamlessly weaving together past and present. It's like watching a breathtaking dance of emotions as Ian and Amelie's lives intertwine, revealing secrets, heartaches, and moments of sheer joy.

Beyond the surface of a second-chance romcom, 'The Wedding Menu' is a multi-layered exploration of grief, abandonment, and the courage to face the future. The characters are so richly developed that they feel like friends you can't help but cheer for.

Amidst the laughter and tears, Ian and Amelie's chemistry crackles with tension, leaving you on the edge of your seat, eager for their paths to merge. Their journey from strangers to best friends to lovers will tug at your heartstrings and remind you of the beauty in taking chances.

Ian's reluctance to commit and Amelie's struggle to find her voice add a beautiful depth to the narrative. You'll find yourself rooting for them, hoping they'll find their way to each other amidst life's chaos.

Lorini's writing is a work of art, evoking emotions that will stay with you long after you've turned the final page. Each line is crafted with care, every scene alive with vivid imagery, and every emotion raw and authentic.

Roses:
This story had a ton of things I love in stories. I’m huge lover of a “share your emotions” king like Ian is. Both Ian and Amelie were actually funny! And it didn’t come across like forced. Loved the addition of having the dads being rivals with each other but wasn’t the sole thing making the relationship seem untouchable. The spicy scenes in this were great and the frequency was perfect literally I was so happy that once that door was open that the characters spicy moments stayed controlled and not over done. Another thing I’m always a sucker for the HEAs. And this 100% delivers on that. I honestly was really happy with the story and truly would love more with Ian and Amelie.

Thorns:
I found the MFC annoying at times with her refusing to accept her fiancé was trash even tho she outwardly said it herself how he wasn’t doing the things she was needing. I’m just not a fan of the whole “I can’t have what I want even though I know they are hurting me and I can end it” energy Amelie was giving. I’m also in my early 30s and there’s no time to play that game in real life so as a reader I don’t tend to connect to those types of characters anymore.

this book has my heart body and soul and tears!!!

I don’t usually like dual timeline but OHMYGOD did I love this book.

Letizia is a master in spice, banter, angst and romance!
Seriously I could feel the feelings of the characters on my skin, this book had me up til 1am to finish it because I just couldn’t stop reading.

Amelie, Beautiful Amelie…. She’s truly one of the most resilient characters I’ve read, and an fmc with desperate need to develop and evolve as a person and she does the job so well it’s shocking how much she grows in this book.

She opens herself up and learns to put herself first and her journey in a single year is surreal. One of the best character developments I’ve read.

I get why we don’t get Ian’s pov but I love this man so much I truly wish we had a glimpse of his mind. He literally pours his soul out and we can see him so brightly it’s amazing. I’ve never seen such a beautifully vulnerable mmc and it was devastating in the best way.

This is a romance that will be forever in my brain, the genuine love these characters have for each other, the caring, the history between them, the silly moments, I love and cherish everything this book has to offer.

I have no complaints

Super cute storyline that reminded me of 27 dresses, not in the bridesmaid way but the fact that she was always putting other people before herself. And I love storytelling through time jumps, so if you're not a fan of going back and forth between past and present this might not be for you.

Ahhh I just wanted to shake (the main girl whose name I forget). She was a little frustrating and like she didn't understand how he wouldn't want to talk to her and that she just felt like she needed to get him to sleep with her and then everything would be better??

There was a lot going on, and a lot of misunderstandings/people not knowing current info, and that made it a little disjointed.

Plus I feel like he forgave her too easily. But also she was trying to choose him and his dad cockblocked him?

I have mixed feelings clearly. This was an original story, and the writing and pieces of the story I liked. Also some that I didn't love...

If there was ever a moment to catch a golden fish and make a wish, or to rub a lamp and, again, ask for a wish, now would be an ideal time and I would make these two wishes:

1. to be able to write *the* words which would do justice for how beautiful and outstanding and delicious and perfect this book is 🧀🍷
2. to make sure the whole world reads it, because everyone deserves a piece of happiness The Wedding Menu provides

Ian is the friend and the boyfriend and the husband and the soulmate and a forever and a happily-ever-after we dream of. You know how we always say we want to be happy? Because happiness is the most important thing. Happiness is what drives our hearts and souls and what makes us enjoy life and, well, live. Ian is that. Ian is the definition of happy.

"Being your friend has been the best part of the last four months - actually, scratch that. It's been the highlight of my life.

Ian won me over since the first pages and I never looked back. I was gone for him way before I met his witty personality, his beautiful and cheesy pick-up lines, his perfect charisma. Ian is probably the sweetest MMC I have ever met, he's super funny, he's sensitive and loving and adorable. He got under my skin and he still has me in a chokehold in the best possible way.

Also, whenever that man said "beautiful" my eyes were tearing up immediately. See the hold that man has on me?? It's insane! But I'm not complaining.

I fell in love with him in a way I don’t think I ever did in the past with a fictional character. To the point he doesn’t feel like a fictional character AT ALL. Because Ian feels like my closest friend, someone I would do anything for, and whenever his heart broke - I cried so much and everything in me ached for him. I wanted to burn everything down and take his sorrows and pain and sadness away in whatever means I could. He has the most beautiful soul and seeing him in pain was worse than being in pain myself.

Amelie is such a great character. She's a French chef, one of the best in the industry, she's a perfectionist and she knows her worth. Or she should know her worth.
I love her so much. I want to say that sometimes I wanted to break my Kindle because of her, but the more I knew Amelie the more my heart ached for her, the more my love grew for her, the more I admired her. She's so strong and she had such remarkable character development and I'm so so proud of her! 💗

I meant it when I said I wasn't looking for a girlfriend, Amelie. But you... You're my favorite notification.

Ian and Amelie are the meaning and definition of soulmates. There just can't be any other way. Ian and Amelie exist in the same world, in the same timeline with the purpose of finding each other and being together. Ian and Amelie were meant to be.

You know the Chinese proverb which says "An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break." - it's like this proverb was meant for Ian and Amelie.

"I knew I was playing with fire, Amelie. And besides, I'd let you burn me anytime."

Their story is so beautiful, but boy did I bawl my eyes out until I was blessed with their happy-ever-after.

"You feel like a fucking dream I don't want to wake up from, Amelie."

The Wedding Menu is so much more than a romance book. This book will break your heart into million pieces and will then glue it back together. It's a book which will make you hold your breath for as long as you humanly can, which will keep you on the edge no matter how hard you're holding for dear life. It's a book which will make you cry and sob and scream inside. It's a book which will make your jaw drop to the freaking floor at the most unexpected moments.

But it's also a book which will bring the most genuine and happy smiles to your face. And happy tears, too. The good ones, very very good ones. It's a book which will warm your heart in a way you never thought possible. It's a book which will make you believe in love, in true love, and will give you all the hope and reassurance that it exists and it's out there. It's a book which will also elevate your standars so freaking high you will not want to settle for anything less than. And rightfully so.

"I fell for you without noticing, because it didn't feel like falling, it felt like standing. So fucking high."

Letizia Lorini's writing is way beyond perfect and beautiful and superb. She will hold you captive to her books since the Dedication page until About The Author. You will want to lose your sleep, forget about your adult life and your job and your chores and everything else because who needs all of that when you have Letizia's book in front of you? Right, priorities.

The Wedding Menu is written in dual timelines and it's so stunningly done - the pace is top notch, some chapters will make you feel as you're watching your favourite TV show (be thankful you won't have to wait a week for a new episode aka new chapter), the twists are just 🤯🤯🤯 yeah, truuust me!

I genuinely cannot recommend this book enough, and I truly recommend you drop everything you're doing and just run to Amazon to pre-order this masterpiece, and prepare your Kindles for September 15th and get ready to devour this one in one sitting, because there just won't be any other way of reading The Wedding Menu.

As for the rating, in Goodreads it's five stars. In reality? and nothing less.

Thank you a billion, Letizia, for the greatest honour of providing me the ARC copy of this book. I'm forever in love, forever obsessed, forever in awe. 💖 And so very much and forever proud of you.
