Wow an adult twist on the Lux series with the Arum being the hero - me likey!!! It was great. I fucking loved Hunter, he was full on alpha. I liked Serena she was strong and a great heroine. Looking forward to more in this series.

I cannot believe I waited so long to read this book. If you've read the Lux series you might feel the same
hesitation as me, because Arum is supposed to = bad...
but do yourself a favor and give this a read. I really enjoyed the characters even when I expected not to. This made me wish the entire Lux series was Adult instead of YA 🙈
There are two sides to every story - just when we thought the Luxen were the good guys and the Arum the evil murderers, we're proven wrong. I was shocked by the Arum's story, by the true motives of most Luxen and the way they perceived others. I really can't wait for Origin now to see if some of the plot will be tied in. It was also insanely cute seeing the mentions of JLA's other books and there's a cameo from a special someone that squeezed my heart.
⭐3 stars⭐
Cuddling? Oh hell, this was cuddling. Spooning to be exact. I was fucking cuddling.

Next part of binge reading Lux universe with Sam is Obsession, a spin off to Lux. You can read her review here. Lux books are young adult and this one was new adult, which I liked.
Obsession is a story about a girl, who lost her best friend and knew something she shouldn't have. Armentrout showed us perfectly how different sides of a war have different stories, especially if their ancestors caused the said war. In Lux series Arum are the bad guys who caused the war and kill Luxen just for the fun of it and none of them are good. In Obsession other hand Luxen are the bad guys. Hunter describes them being power hungry and they’d kill humans just to keep their secrets.
What’s with aliens and triplets, though? Both luxen and arum have triplets. Are they not capable of having just one child?
I was entertained while reading this book but I remmeber liking it better the last time I read. That's probably because back then I wasn't as into adult romance as I am now and the story just didn't feel that different from all the other paranormal books. The girl meets a nonhuman boy and they start having sex and suddenly they're in love without much growth in their relationship. That said I was happy to see how Hunter went from being unhappy about having to watch over Serena and not believing in love to wanting to be like his enemy just so he could heal her and admitting that he’s in love with her. I adored how he couldn't care about the other humans but would do anything to protect her. There's just something about "I just care about you" attitude.
I loved that we had both Hunter and Serena’s POV but they were so confusing. You never knew when the point of view change was coming. I really enjoyed this book but I feel like it didn't really feel like an ending for their story but a beginning.
I recommend reading this if you like Lux but haven't had the chance to read Hunter and Serena's story yet. It's interesting to see a different point of view to their so called "war". My favorite part actually was seen this world differently instead of just the romance. I loved learning more about Arum and I'm glad we got to see how nothing is black and white. I really hope to see not only Hunter and Serena in later Lux books but also Lore and Dex. I have to admit I'm even a little curious about Sin.

I would give this book a 2.5, half of it was kinda useless, and half of it was nice to connect to the last book in lux series. If your into smutt books you might like this book, for me the book was over the top, however, by smutt standards mild. Certainly an adult book....
After re-reading, I noticed that the pacing was kind of fast. They seemed to fall for each other too fast.
Ehm, I need more!!!!! <3
