It is not my high in my ranks however it was a good enjoyable read.
I'm glad I've read it as it made me stop and think about a few topics in life.
Although it was a simple story line it was detailed and expressed beautifully.
That is all I have to say.

A friend lent me this book when I was looking for some whimsical children’s fiction. It did not disappoint. This was a lovely story about imagination and hope and love. It pairs well with peaceful winter vacations in cozy beach front lodges and never ending tea.
Very easy, pleasant novella for young readers. I correctly predicted the plot a quarter way in, but it was wonderful nonetheless.
Not a fan of the sassy Mina. A know-it-all kid like that wouldn't have been popular anywhere, and David Almond successfully created that in her. Nonetheless, it was through her that I learned about "pneumatization". Such a cool word.

I re-read this book prior to using it as a teaching tool. The characters are well-written and there are lots of themes to explore. I particularly like Mina’s character and the ideas she introduces. Well worth reading.
