Elie Mystal cracks me up. He is brazenly blunt in his legal analysis and fearless about calling for a sea change in Congress and the courts. This will seem revolutionary or rebellious to some, while others will be wondering where these kinds of ideas have been all their lives and leave feel hungry for more. While I think his earlier "Allow Me to Retort" was the slightly better book, I learned so much from this, and know I will revisit it. It covers which stupid gun laws are doing the most harm (the ones that prevent class action lawsuits against gun manufacturers are particularly egregious), why voter registration laws are BS and prevent voting, and why the Democrats need to fight the Hyde amendment if the really want to be seen as the party supporting reproductive rights and access to abortion. And there's more! Do yourself a favor and pick up one of Mystal's books today!
