Pyramids

Terry Pratchett

3.81 AVERAGE

We are introduced to an ancient kingdom, suspiciously similar to our ancient egypts. Teppic is the prince and leaves for Ankh Morpork to train at the Assisins Guild. On the eve of his graduation he feels the irresistable urge to return home, knowing that his father (the king) has died.

Going back wasn't easy, he had gotten used to modern comforts such as matresses and plumbing and is determined to be a fair and honest ruler, but things don't go quite to plan.

Exploding pyramids, the walking dead, a high priest who is up to something and a camel with exceptional mathematical skills make for a great read.

The jokes were more groan-inducing than usual in this one, but it had some surprisingly beautiful moments near the end.

I’m mad about how funny this is. Check mate, Pratchett.

This is a decent read, but one of my least favorite Discworld novels.

THAT END THOUGH. I hope Teppic is in other books too. He's probably the most down to earth character I've read so far!
