Honestly such a fun read. The adventure just doesn’t end. I’m at the edge of my seat at every page turn. Can’t wait to complete the series with the third book. Violet Sorrengail is such an elite heroine. I enjoyed her lows and her highs. Highly recommended

3.75 - i wanted to start this off by saying that rebecca yarros CLEARLY knows how to write an action sequence because i could not put this down in the last 100 pages! that was such a rollercoaster of an ending! for me, i found that the middle section of this was really slow and almost read as a third draft instead of the finished product. but having said that, the beginning and end were perfectly paced! violet and xaden need some serious couples therapy because i just know xaden isn’t going to communicate with violet properly in the next book…

I liked this better than the first! The beginning of the middle was the *tiniest* bit slow but it’s super good and I can’t wait for the third book!!

Violet was so annoying in the first 3/4ths of this book and scenes didn’t interest me, which is why the rating is low. The last 200 pages started to get interesting and ended on a cliffhanger. I’m going to power through and continue the series.

I don’t know why I got this book because I didn’t like the first one (mainly because the writing was so bad). I tried to give this one a shot anyway. I shouldn’t have. DNF
