Wonderful book truly enjoyed it! However, the lead romance gets really annoying to the point I skipped a few pages but out of 750+ pages it's not enough to ruin the book just knock it down a peg. The story was so captivating I couldn't stop reading.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Rating 4.5 rounded down.
The first 300 pages of this book are so slow that it took me forever to kick start picking it back up again, I was starting to worry I understood why people were DNFing it. The last 300 pages? Had me in an iron grip. But I lowkey can’t stand when a book can’t keep my full attention throughout—the second half made up for it.

Few random thoughts:
- I feel bad for insinuating in my last review that Violet’s mom killed their dad

Oh my GODD 🫠
This book had me on the EDGE of my seat with my heart in my mouth nearly the entire time.

The last few chapters of the book were absolutely devastating. The ending has ruined my life and I’m absolutely loosing it thinking about reading Onyx Storm

It is a good book

De Nederlandse audio van dit doek is best goed en xaden klinkt als Sinterklaas dus dat was wel fun:)
medium-paced

Iron flame had all the potential to build on the first book, and I really wanted to like it. But I found it a slog to get through. The pacing felt off, with long stretches where nothing of consequence seemed to happen, and my attention kept slipping.

Character development was minimal, and the relationships that should have deepened stayed surface-level. I stopped caring when yet another undeveloped character was killed off. The lack of meaningful world building made it hard to invest in the stakes or care about the larger conflict.

Overall it felt like a missed opportunity, and by the end I was more relieved to be done than eager for the next installment.
