I love anything James Rollins writes and reading The Anomaly gaves me some Rollins feels. It was filled with adventure, a new world and a new idea that you really had to wrap your brain around to picture what was happening. I enjoyed the advetnure, the suspense and pictures scattered throughout the book.
There were just some tweeks that set this good book a part from other great books. The beginning started out with mini blog enteries and then dropped a quarter a way through the book. Now I know the character was going through some things that did not allow him to casually write a blog entry for his fans, but it felt almost like the author had an idea for the book and changed his mind. It didn't feel purposeful.
The adventure was great, but the action scenes were just a bit, a tiny bit, lacking. It is hard to write them. To make the reader read slower to catch every single action happening, but also feel like time is rushing by, with multiple things going on all at once.
I also got a pinch exhausted with the inner dialogue. Some of just didn't feel necessary enough to the story and I felt I was wasting my time.
These are the only reasons I dropped the book from 'LOVE' to 'LIKE'. As I said in my above review, I am excited to see what else this author brings to the table.

I actually stopped reading this. I thought the premise was good but there was a character that constantly swore. As listening to it on audio, I found that it was a bit too much for me. On the whole I liked the idea but not the delivery.
