As per yuj, I'm throwing myself in the middle of what seems to be not only an ongoing series but a spinoff at that - oops!?
I belatedly realized that I even have a couple from the original series in my library, still haven't read them - oops redux.
This is my first read by Elle Kennedy, it's certainly inspired me to tackle the existing titles in my TBR/library.

3.5⭐️ Sadly, this is my least favorite in the series. I wasn’t a big fan of the FMC, maybe because I found her too relatable.

I enjoyed the first half and was into the MFM takes. But the last act didn’t click into place for me. I liked how the writer wanted to break stereotypes but I wanted some third person to test their ties. I expected the ex or sorority to damage her reputation but it didn’t surface. Some of the sex was not that interesting.

I really loved the two mmc in the previous books so was looking forward to their book.
We understand more about their families and backgrounds, seeing beneath the stereotypical hockey facade. Even though there is no romance between them, they clearly care for each other and it's sweet to see them interacting.
The fmc was a new addition to this cast. She had strong public and private personalities that differed greatly.
There was the usual sexy scenes and funny banter between both the younger and older hockey male characters.
I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't clock for me personally. I think it's because I just couldn't relate to the fmc. There isn't anything I can say was done poorly or badly, but I just didn't love it like I do with her other books. I will continue to read anything that she writes and this is just my personal opinion

The Charlie Method was a solid read in terms of pacing — Elle Kennedy’s writing is always engaging, and I enjoyed getting to know Will and Beckett. Their dynamic was fun, and the chemistry between them and Charlie added a fresh, spicy twist to the Briar U universe. The poly relationship was a bold and interesting direction that I think added something new to the series.
That said, this was probably my least favourite of Elle Kennedy’s Briar-connected books. While I liked Charlie overall and appreciated what she brought to the story, I found myself wanting to understand her more. There were moments where her choices — especially her repeated avoidance around opening up to her parents — frustrated me more than anything. I kept hoping we’d get more emotional depth and background from her, but it never fully landed.
I did love seeing Blake step into the spotlight, though — she was such a standout character, and I’m really excited for her story next.
If you’re a fan of the series, it’s still worth reading for the spice and the familiar world, but this one left me wishing for a little more substance alongside the heat.
