Good one. Lots of intense battles and a cliffhanger ending.
An incredible entry in what has become a comfort series for me. This entire book is an absolute game changer for Dresden and I can't wait to see the fall out from everything that happened.
IM LITERALLY GOING TO HAVE A PANIC ATTACK ITS ALMOST 1 IN THE MORNING AND I WANT TO START THE NEXT BOOK SO BAD BUT I KNOW I HAVE TO SLEEP
okay so any misgivings I had about this series completely EVAPORATED. this was actually the magnum opus of this series. it's so IMPORTANT and well written ugh i'm gonna throw up. it's amazing to see the growth harry has gone through, but also that there are still so many people by his side (i'm looking at you murphy ;) ) but anyways, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, i'm so glad i read this.

Ok, I might have awaitied a little too long before writing this review, because I don't remember my reactions as clearly as I would like.
I definitely was sucked in by this; I do like the series. Like a lot of books I'm reading lately, it feels like the end; there's a lot of things revealed and loose ends tied up. I guess there's still places to go, but not as many as there used to be. Overall, solid.

This book is soooooo good. This is reread #4 or 5 I think? This book looses nothing in rereads.
I don’t think I’ve said it for a while but really loving James Marsters audiobooks. His voice is perfect. Only voice that gets to me is toot toot. But it also fits him. I can’t believe it took me all these years to finally give them a listen. So worth it.

I don't know how so much action and story are packed into these small books. This one - like always - is an adventure with an epic battle and HUGE ramifications for the future of the characters. Can't wait to see how it unfolds.
I'm guessing from what happens in this book, that it is the pivotal book of the series. This is spoilery, so don't read.
But Harry loses everything. Everything he ever was, everything he claimed to be, everything that made him HIM - he puts it up on the alter of sacrifice for his child. And he wins, but what is he at the end of the book? Delightfully, we never find out, due to the ending. I suspect that the ending is a run around some of the deal Harry made, and if it is... I don't think I will respect Butcher. But not having read the next book in the series, I will with hold judgement.
Damn fine book. Damn fine.
