I didn't enjoy this but I'm glad I read it. I didn't enjoy the pacing, or any of the characters. This story is the inspiration for so many other books and films that I'm glad I read, and I understand the limitations of a play, but this really didn't work for me.

Additionally, where the play left and the extent of the wrap-up was not well aligned, it felt like an admission that the play inadequately covered the details of the story....

I recommend to those looking to read books "in the canon," otherwise skip.
