I was a really good play, but i do prefer the musical, i did miss some of the "scenes" with Eliza learning how to speak. But i do like the ending better in this one.

👧💐👨‍🏫 Pygmalion 👨‍🏫💐👧

If you’re going to be a lady, you’ll have to give up feeling neglected if the men you know don’t spend half their time snivelling over you and the other half giving you black eyes.

Pygmalion is a story written by George Bernard Shaw which tells us about London phonetics professor Henry Higgins sees no reason why he can’t single-handedly transform a poor flower girl with a cockney accent into a cultured, high-society woman. When challenged to prove so, he takes the bet. However, his strong-headed subject, Eliza Doolittle, won’t make the job easy, avowing her independence. And she may just have a thing or two to teach him in return.

Picking up this classic just on a whim came out to be a wonderful experience for me, I have heard about George Bernard Shaw a lot and as soon as I had my eyes on this book I didn't spare a second and started reading it.
The story development is done in the way of play which consists of five acts in which each act teaches us something with wit and humour. The characters are revealed to us in a most interesting manner, they are just a common man with a certain characteristic to describe themselves by which they are referred to until and unless they reveal their name in the act.

For me, my favourite character is, of course, Elisa, also referred to as Lisa in the play. She's smart, witty, and knows when one must grab an opportunity that comes into our lives only once. She knows how to read the character of a person and also has a way of handling herself that comes out to be so adorable. She has self-respect and knows how to hold her pride among men and women of the highest order.

Pick it up if you like a short read with interesting wit and humour, if you like classics with lessons hidden inside the stories, and if you love to read books in which character development is given preference.
